Darcy Richardson, MS has worked in forensic toxicology for over 20 years and in that time has done it all, and provided testimony in a wide variety of cases. She has worked in state and private laboratories, trained police officers and attorneys, and has been qualified in analytical chemistry, blood and breath alcohol testing, drug and alcohol impairment, drug and alcohol physiology and pharmacology, among other categories in the courts. She has testified on many aspects of toxicology cases including both evidential and preliminary breath testing devices, blood testing for alcohol and drugs, alternative matrix analysis, quality control standards, alcohol estimation calculations, and on drug and alcohol impairment and toxicity.
She has provided testimony for both the prosecution and defense in civil and criminal cases as well as presenting testimony in front of licensing boards. She is a member of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists (NEAFS), The International Association of Chemical Testing (IACT) as well as the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT). She is also a member of the American Standards Board (ASB) Toxicology Consensus Body, which works in conjunction with OSAC to standardize Forensic Toxicology procedures to ensure that forensic toxicology practice is consistent and based on the current literature.
