Eligibility

In order to be eligible to apply for IAFTC membership, you must have worked for at least one year as an independent expert witness in areas related to toxicology. Some areas related to toxicology include, but are not limited to toxicology, pharmacology, pharmacy, forensic drug analysis, analytical chemistry, SFST/ARIDE/DRE trained police officer, chemical synthesis, physician, medical review officer, nurse, psychiatrist, psychologist, statistician, metrologist, and others. 

• All members MUST be independent and have the freedom to refuse to work on a specific case
• Full members MUST have testified in a legal proceedings for at least one year
• Associate members have not testified, but have consulted on preliminary legal proceeding cases for at least one year
• Emeritus members MUST have been a full member for 5 years AND have retired from full-time expert witness employment. They also must have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments in advancing the standards and ideals of their field and contributed towards the advancement of the purpose of IAFTC
